THE RESONANT YOU

§ February 6th, 2010 § Filed under Chapter 66: The Resonant You § Tagged , , , , § No Comments

Looking at the photo, do you feel the resonance of your own being? Something from a memory? From someplace you've been? Or is it new and drawn from reflecting resonance around you right now? Or does it beckon from within? Perhaps calling you to enter this new spiritual space? Perhaps something inside you is open to beginning a journey.

My Sprit Guide, See Do, took a lot of time to explain how our internal concept of this temporal reality is built. He explained how our individual identities form out of our integrated perceptions. And how our internal conscious beings echo everything that our senses consume.

In short, we are resonance. Our conscious beings integrate a world view around a kernel of reflected truth. This truth is assembled from echoing or repeating resonance that we distill from our perceptions. This kernel anchors our self-image. We project an actualization of our self-image out into the world and it reflects back with a positive consequence – this is the start – our kernel has formed. It grows more unified and resilient by picking up resonance of events and encounters. It becomes further integrated as we continue to reflect our internal image and see ourselves as a whole and separate identity from others and from outside events and consequences.

This is your being moving through your temporal reality. You are an individual, discreet being perceiving reality from a specific perspective. Your world view puts you firmly inside you, behind the nexus of your keyhole perceptions, with everything else outside you.

But what lies at the beginning of this process of identity-forming self-integration? There is a point from which we project our world and back into which our pre-integrated perceptions funnel. It is over this point of being that we come to overlay the self. We form an identity out of the sense we make of our temporal reality and use it as the scaffolding or platform for our experience of reality. But what of the singular point we have paved over with our self-aware, eternally self-critical conscious being? What is that thing?

It is your soul.

Behind the conscious thing you think of as you, is a point, a singularity that still powers the whole show for you. The reality you perceive is brought to you, in full, through the graces of your soul’s continual efforts.

Everything you perceive is an echo of your inner alignment between your conscious being and your soul’s inner truths and passions. The world you see resonates through you constantly. At the level of the conscious you, your self-identity, you are continually receiving and integrating resonances from the world you perceive. And as a result, your self-identity grows more complete and robust. The truth is you carry some of the resonance of everything you perceive. Just think about it. It is how you came to perceive them. It is another chicken-and-egg conundrum, isn’t it?

And your soul waits in the background for you to integrate your deeper internal truths and passions into your self, into your world view, in fact into the world that you project, creating new and powerfully integrated resonances that will reflect your deepest truths and become part of you, resonating out into your perceived temporal reality.

Your soul waits for you to move into True Being – to see the power of your truest self. It is so far beyond the stumbling automaton we foist up and construct around our worldly perceptions alone.

Look inside yourself deeply. Free yourself from any long-carried self-limitations and guilt. Find your conscious-spiritual connection. Greet your soul-spirit and learn to work as one. Move into True Being.

This is where we begin to change the world. Please don’t turn away.

YOU ARE EVERYTHING

§ February 3rd, 2010 § Filed under Chapter 65: You Are Everything § Tagged , , , , , § No Comments

You are everything and everything is you. There simply is no inside nor outside. This photo is of an outcrop of rock that exudes great spiritual energy. There is only one energy. And it flows from within. You are your own vortex of energy. You can create a better world. Please begin.

Non-duality. It is the way many spiritual traditions refer to the ultimate oneness of everything. In See Do reality, the idea of the ultimate oneness of everything in this existence couples with the one thing that is the ultimate truth in your spirit.

This infinitesimal point of the one thing paints everything you perceive as the right now. This creation, this now, flows out of your spirit; in truth, is your spirit, reflecting its resonance back into your consciousness through your integrated perceptions.

The world you perceive is a reflection of the one thing flowing out through the filter or lens of your inner resonances. Though “out” is not quite right, but may help in the conceptualization. It all happens as the one thing, in the one thing. There is no “out,” as the Space you perceive is part of the illusion of the integrated perception of temporal reality.

Let’s take another look: The one thing appears to your consciousness as a set of perceptions projected entirely from the one thing’s energies as “translated” through the lens of your spirit/conscious being. Your perceived reality will match your inner truths in direct proportion to your conscious-spiritual alignment with your inner spirit’s higher passions and truths. As you reach True Being, you will feel and see the results of this alignment in the physical and temporal reality you perceive. As you avoid striving for True Being, you will see the randomness of a world out of alignment with your inner truths.

The point is that everything you perceive of as outside of you is, in truth, you. There is only one thing. It all shines through you. Everything that you perceive is the reflection of that shining energy. And that energy does not fragment. It is a singular thing.

The one thing has no limits in what it can give you to perceive. Your spirit-conscious being can create anything. Look out into the reality you perceive. There is great beauty and depth. There is a world of myriad complexity and perceived consequence. It may be harmonious and serene. It may be difficult and confusing.

It may be hard to understand the complexity of the relationships between your reality, your spirit, your conscious being and the many other spirits you might be interacting with. You may be in a difficult place to begin your journey to True Being. Do not blame yourself for not beginning earlier. You are the energy and spirit reflecting back from everything you see. Be patient and begin.

Move to the glow of your inner love, no matter how tiny the light. Build the flame and begin to see your spirit in alignment with your conscious self as you move to become that being who you can most completely love, admire and honor.

It is an illusion of our temporal reality that we perceive a world outside of ourselves. There is no outside or inside. There is only one energy. It moves through us, through our spirit, through our conscious state-of-mind and into our perceptions. These perceptions create a world-view of Space and Time. We perceive a whole reality moving through a flow of Time. We remember a past that integrates with our perceptions(or is it vice-a-versa?). But it all has one source. And it all returns to one source.

We are taught that our powers are small, that our energies are weak, our voice tiny. Look into yourself and see that this is not true. You are everything. You are the one thing. Begin to see your True Being. And begin to see the one thing in the eyes of souls around you. It is there.

Behind this veil of tears that is our temporal reality, we are waiting for you. Come find us. There is work to do.

THIS TICK OF TIME

§ January 30th, 2010 § Filed under Chapter 64: This Tick of Time § Tagged , , , , § No Comments

We see a smooth flow of Time, but it is an illusion. It is part of the construct between our perception of right now and our memory in the right now. As we look closer its flow is always perceived of as even and continuous. We never perceive the individual grains the flow is riding on.

My Spirit Guide, See Do, taught me that Time does not exist, but that Time is all we perceive. He also taught that there is only one thing. And that this temporal reality and everything in it are an expression of the one thing. Being outside of our illusions of Time and Space, it has no beginning or end, no size.

I have talked about the resonant energies within us that create our world. But within the construct of our perceptions of this temporal reality we see this thing we call “Time” passing. What was “now,” is now a memory and a new “now” flows from the previous. Sometimes big changes can occur between the two perceived moments. Sometimes just thousands of tiny changes.

I tried many analogies to try and understand what See Do was saying, but he would invariable reject these as unhelpful. According to See Do it is better to “see” the full complexity. So here it is:

There is only one thing. And it moves through each of us. In fact, it is each of us, as there is obviously no alternative identity. There is only one thing.

The one thing creates the stimuli that we each perceive as our temporal reality. Our conscious mind processes and integrates these stimuli into a cohesive world view. As Time passes in our perception, we see the world changing. Our mind integrates all input and “sees” a fluid flow of Time and events.

We think we “see” or perceive many things. But there is only one thing. We think we see a flow of Time, but that is an illusion. It is part of the construct between our perception of right now and our perception of memory in the right now. As we look closer at Time, it stays the same. Its flow is always perceived of as even and continuous.

At the risk of drawing an analogy, it is not unlike watching a movie. Your mind sees a smooth flow of action, but in fact, no such smooth flow exists. The movie is just the rapid projection of individual still images that are not moving at all. Something called “persistence of vision” makes your mind create the movement in the construct of reality it gives to your consciousness. Well, the finest grains of Time are sort of like that.

Between each tiny grain of perceived Time, the one thing, or in other words, you, or your spirit, have moved through every point of existence in your perception. It all ties to, reflects and resonates reality from within itself. As your inner spirit, or your state of True Being, glows out, so the one thing creates the next moment of your perceived “now.” It weaves a world of perceptual stimuli that appears to flow smoothly through your senses to come together as a smooth and continually flowing Time-anchored reality.

The complexity of the “painting” is linked to the perceptual resolution of the perceiver. And you may notice that, of course, the resolution, or graininess, of reality is always consistent. Look closer and you see more.

As your construct of Time ticks forward, the world appears. And since you can not visit the future or the past, you can not verify or prove whether the whole thing continues to exist across the flow of Time. And likewise, you can not prove that it only exists in the moment. Or that it only exists in your perceptions and memory of the moment.

Being anchored within our perceptions of a Time-based reality, all we have is that which we perceive in front of us, and that which is in our memories.

This is at the heart of See Do Reality. Time does not exist. There is only one thing. The implications are staggering. As Time-based beings it is almost disturbing to even attempt to give up the idea that Time is absolute and flowing forward without interruption. And that everything in our reality is solid and exists continually across the flow of Time. But stop and think about that a moment (no pun intended).

Does the chair you’re sitting in exist somewhere else, or some-when else, besides the right here right now, where you can solidly verify its existence? Do you have multiple existences? How can you verify that something physically existed in the past without using material from the present?

We believe in Time. We believe in the past. We believe in the future. But is it anything more than belief? Yet it is the basis of the reality we live in. Without this unquestionable faith in Time, our agreed upon reality, indeed our sanity, would not hold up for very long.

If these thoughts are bothersome, I apologize. I do not mean to disturb. In my case, it took me many sessions, many questions, and many repetitions of lessons for my mind to even be able to assemble these ideas.

But this is as it was told to me. Time does not exist. There is only one thing. We create our world, then perceive it. Each moment of our “now” is created between each perceived tick of Time. And it all happens outside of Time, and all at once.

Of course it all happens outside of Time. According to See Do, the only place that Time “exists” is in the temporal reality construct inside of our heads.

Please take time with this one (another unintended pun). We’re more than halfway there. This was the big hump. Once over it, we begin to see how we can use our positive spirit energies to change the world.

Stay with me. We’re past the hardest part.

THE ILLUSIVE ACT OF CREATION

§ January 27th, 2010 § Filed under Chapter 63: The Illusive Act of Creation § Tagged , , , , , § No Comments

Once again, the actual act of creation is hdden from view. All we can see are the outward manifestations -- the final product. No microscope, no telescope can peer outside of Space and Time.

Our perceptions and consciousness give us a world of myriad beauty. But they have their limits. As you move closer to feeling and expressing your state of True Being, you will often find yourself close to one of those limits of perception.

After all, perception is what we have. We can not perceive beyond what our senses are equipped to perceive. And we need something to perceive in order for our consciousness to construct our reality. It becomes a chicken-and-egg conundrum. Without stimuli to one of our senses, would we even be aware that the sense existed? All we have of our senses is the brain’s interpretation of the stimulus’ signal.

And to make matters more constraining, we only perceive consciously what our mind constructs and gives to us as the “right now.” Even though, as we learned earlier from our science, the mind’s construction of “now” is mostly about a half a second out of date.

The point being, that “now” is as early as we can consciously perceive what is happening between the resonance of our spirit in a state of True Being and the outward expression of the one thing in the physical existence of this temporal reality. In other words, you can not perceive the act of creation. All you can perceive is the full picture – the full integration and merging of these energies.

To our conscious mind, it appears whole and full and completely integrated with all memory and evidence. As we look closer it unfailing unfolds a 100% consistent reality down to the last laws of physics. Our minds build a wide world view for us from a glimpse through a peep-hole, even filling in gaps in our perception with its own best guesses. And doing a very good job.

According to my Spirit Guide, See Do, the actual act of creation is beyond our mind’s powers to conceive of. First of all, and this is a pretty big non-starter, it all occurs outside of what we think of as Time. So it doesn’t “happen” quickly or slowly. It doesn’t “happen” one thing at a time or all at once. It “happens” in a state where there is no Time. Any idea of our conscious mind’s construction of temporal reality as existing along an ever-unwinding conveyor belt of Time is wholly an illusion of our perceptual construct.

The creation of these stimuli for us to perceive is simply part of the one thing. It all “happens,” all of it, and is happening, simultaneously – all at once. All beginnings and all endings are one. For us to “see” ahead of, or even behind, our one singular moment of right now is utterly impossible. There is simply no there there. At least not from our conscious point-of-view.

And the only proof I can offer of it “happening” will be the proof you provide as you get ever closer to your state of True Being and start to see the world of your creation begin to unfold in front of you.

Start to move in a true sense of yourself and you will feel it. Find the love within you to move the world. It is in you. Quite literally.

FIRST CREATE THEN PERCEIVE

§ January 23rd, 2010 § Filed under Chapter 62: First Create Then Perceive § Tagged , , , , , , § No Comments

In a flash of perception you will see that your world flows from within. You will be riding the wave of creative energy that paints the fantastic tapestry we call temporal reality.

According to the lessons I received from my Spirit Guide, See Do, the world around us resonates from within us. According to See Do, the world we perceive is an expression of the “one thing” painting out through the brush of our spirit. “Our” spirit being the collective spirit of every soul in this world.

The individual spirit or soul within us may be in contact with, or in tune with, our conscious sense of self to a greater or lesser degree. When we come to embrace a sense of our inner spirit, and to develop the line of contact, we can begin to understand our place in the existence of this world that we perceive.

With work, we can clear away the internal obstacles that hold us apart from our creative spirit. With work we can truly become one with this spirit and begin to manifest our True Being in the world. We can forgive ourselves all past transgressions great and small and come to truly love our own being. We can come to be that being that we can most love and honor. We can see our love flowing out into the world and we can see like and loving spirits attracted to our glow.

It may be easy. Or it may take time. But along the way you will start to see the walls begin to break down between what is inside you and what you may currently perceive as outside you. As your deeper conscious self comes into synchrony with your inner spirit, you will begin to see the resonances within you appearing in the outer world that you perceive.

You may feel a harmony with the world, with life and with other spirits. At first, it may be fleeting, seen only in short glimpses. You will come to see that you and every soul around you are all part of the same expression. This should give rise to a great sense of compassion. And initially all of this may be difficult to hold on to. But try and build around the state of True Being within you.

In a flash of perception, you will see that your world flows from within. From within the “one thing” that is inside of you – that is inside all of us. In this state you will be riding atop the wave of creative energy that gives you this fantastic tapestry of perception and memory that we call temporal reality. In this moment, you will perceive the fresh, new resonance of each perfect, jewel moment of time like you are experiencing it all for the very first time. And you will feel the most intimate of connections between those external perceptions and the resonance of your inner spirit.

Everything seems new, like you’ve never walked outside before, never smelled the air, never heard the city’s sounds. This is perfect perception of the now. And it is as close as you can get to oneness with the world. It is as close as you can get to the true resonance of all things.

Here is the true beauty of your instruments of perception and conscious awareness. You are able to perceive and construct a world of incredible detail and interlocking beauty. There are patterns and echoes of patterns that allow your consciousness to construct and hold a whole and complete world-view, a reality that is dazzling. Opening your perceptions and aligning your spirit with the resonances around you can be overwhelming.

The complexity of each moment and its perfection is hard to conceive of. There may be times when you’ll want to back away. But come back. Please rise to the occasion. You will be starting to master this small tool of ours – our spirit’s ability to glow out and be one with the resonances and energies of what we perceive.

It is all coming out of you after all.

There is only one thing. You will come to nod at the thought, as you now feel your presence out in the world right at the moment of perception. You will feel that you are there, just in front of your physical self, almost but not quite, predicting what you are seeing, hearing, feeling. You will be riding the wave of creativity that pours out of the one thing through you – straight into your perceptions of what we call this temporal reality.

Try and stay on that wave. I promise you will love the ride.

THE LIMITS OF PERCEPTION

§ January 20th, 2010 § Filed under Chapter 61 - 75, Chapter 61: The Limits of Perception § Tagged , , , , § No Comments

Can we see beyond, past the boundaries of Space and Time? We have no way of going there. This temporal reality is what we've got and we will not leave it. Maybe we should get to work to make it a better place.

We have talked about our temporal reality and about this thing I’ve called “See Do reality” (I still don’t have a better name), but are there two realities? The answer is yes and no. And the “no” part is the key to the lesson in this chapter.

But first the “yes” part, because I know that’s what you’re probably most curious about. Okay, “yes” is a cheat. There does exist, according to my Spirit Guide, See Do, a greater reality outside of that which we can consciously perceive. But there are not really two separate realities. Strictly speaking, any “different” reality or existence, whether in different dimensions or whatever, still has to be defined as being part of one reality. But, and this is a big but, there is an existence outside of the reality that we can perceive. The easiest way to try and conceive of it is as another dimension (or set of dimensions) that does not interact with or share any of our perceived dimensions. And remember that those include our precious dimensions of Space and Time.

So as our science digs deeper into the fabric of our temporal reality, they may uncover hidden dimensions of Space. Some theories postulate numerous other dimensions folded in on themselves at a sub-nuclear scale. If found, these would all be part of our temporal reality.

The stuff that I’ve been calling See Do reality is in a totally different direction. And unfortunately, it is in a direction that we can not go.

Now for the “no” part. This may seem obvious, but our perceptions are completely tied to what we can perceive. To us, it is a complete view, a wide and rich perspective. And with the added help of our science, much of the world of the “invisible” is also opened up to us. But it is all, and must all be, completely within the envelop of our perceptions.

We can not see or perceive anything outside of this temporal reality. And if we were to encounter something from outside our perceptual envelop, we simple could not perceive it. To us, it would have no existence.

Our reality is fully ours to perceive. You can look into any aspect of this temporal reality and you will always find more reality. And at the same density of perceptual stimuli. It will not run out. Look up into the night sky and you will see thousands of stars. Look out through a pair of binoculars and you will see thousands of stars. Look through a telescope – thousands of stars. Look as far as you like, you will not see the end. And this exercise will work with a microscope as well. Our temporal reality will always be there.

But beyond, in another direction away from Time and the dimensions of Space? We have no way of going there. This temporal reality is what we’ve got. It is what we have to work with. And we will not leave it. Though “leave it” is a hedge as we come to understand See Do’s first message that Time is an illusion – going on to understand that both Time and Space are illusions. We are not “in” our reality, so much as our reality is “in” us. It comes from us, as out of the one thing that is the greater truth, the greater reality of See Do’s description.

There is only one thing. Time does not exist. With work, we can come to understand these concepts and their implications. And we can come to achieve our state of True Being and we can begin to actively change the world – to build the great castle. But to see beyond this temporal reality? No. Our keyhole perception is our tool, our small tool.

We can be visited by one from outside our temporal reality, as I was when See Do had contact with me. But it was not my consciousness that went beyond my perceptions; it was See Do who was able to manifest in a way that I could perceive him. He appeared as a being completely consistent with ideas that I could accept.

I hope that some of what we told me helps you in some way.

THE EXISTENCE OF THE MOMENT

§ January 16th, 2010 § Filed under Chapter 60: The Existence of the Moment § Tagged , , , , , § No Comments

Does your world view presesnt harmony or chaos? The moment you live in flows out of your resonance and reflects your inner spirit connection. Do you see fluid beauty or a jumble? Does it sparkle? Or is it just wet? It's your world.

Now let’s look a little more closely at this moment we are living in. Here is the “now.” Here is the world of our perceptions, shored up by a beautiful labyrinth of memories and physical evidence. And looking out into the world, there is a complete reality, full of events and people and constant ongoing interactions. But how robust is this smooth fabric of reality that we perceive?

According to my Spirit Guide, See Do, the idea that the existence of any single moment extends, or that the time-frame extends, in some sort of gigantic and concrete “now-ness” is an illusion. To put it simply: there is no consistent existence of any perceived moment.

As each of us, peering through our keyholes, perceives this moment, there is no solid lock-up between our disparate and individual perceptions. Each of us is perceiving time passing in accord with our own sense of awareness and level of attention. And of course, everybody’s perception is true to their individual perception of their reality.

As we interact, our realities merge seamlessly.

Looking out across the world, we receive information that is in perfect resonance with the world we, and the other individuals in our world perception, are projecting or creating. Some of us will be more in tune with our resonance and some of us less in tune. Some will be reaching a close sense of harmony with a world that is in alignment with their state of True Being.

Those who are less in tune will perceive a world that appears much less connected to their spirit than those who are in tune. The world may appear random and at odds with them and their wishes. It is because they perceive a moment that merges with the projected moments of others who are more connected to their spirit energies. Or, in a worst-case scenario, they are in a merged moment of multiple souls who have scant connection, or no connection with their resonances. Without some sense of inner harmony being projected the world will present chaos, at worst violence.

Those who are in tune with at least some of their resonance will see a world where events seem to come to them. They feel that they can “call it in.” And they will see, if they’re observant, objects and patterns paint on the world straight out of their recent positive experiences. Positive memory of the past can be used as the palette of the present. Their “now” feels in harmony with their inner feelings. The two reflect and refract. It just feels good to live in this state, if one can achieve it.

But I digress. The point is that the intermingling of our perceived temporal reality is all we have. It is our perception of the “now.” It all comes from one thing that will pour out a completely consistent viewpoint for you. But yours and mine are not tied to some unbendable fabric of Time. We can both watch the same clock tick, but there is utterly no way to tie our two perceived moments down as one. Our full perception is uniquely our own.

We live in our own “now.” Each present and current moment of existence is all we can interact with. And there is not one big “now” that we all inhabit. Remember, Time does not exist, but Time is all we perceive. The future is not set. But neither is the past. And your work is in the present.

It may take some time to absorb these thoughts. It may be impossible for some. I know. It has taken me years to come to terms with much of what See Do has told me. And some, I must admit, I still can’t fully grasp.

Do your best. Seek your state of True Being. Bring your positive resonant energy into temporal reality. We will all appreciate your efforts.

REALITY IS 100% CONSISTENT

§ January 13th, 2010 § Filed under Chapter 59: Reality Is 100% Consistent § Tagged , , , , , § No Comments

Here's the heart of it, according to See Do: We perceive an infinitely complex view that is painted in-full right at the instant of our perceiving it. And that includes all memory and its apparently seamless integration. After years of pondering this idea, I have found that it doesn't get any easier to swallow.

If you’re keeping up, you’ve now had a good taste of the substance of our temporal reality as well as the nature of our “keyhole perception.” Now on to the fun.

Here begins my account of See Do’s description of the reality behind our temporal reality. Importantly, I am not promoting or proselytizing any belief system. And equally importantly, I have no intention of criticizing or refuting any belief system. These chapters are simply my account of what my Spirit Guide, See Do, told me.

You may recall that in Chapter 32, See Do said that the future is not set, but then, to my surprise, he went a bit further with “and neither is the past.”  And we’ve seen how all conscious perception is, in fact, memory.

According to See Do, all that we can actively perceive is the right now. In other words, all we can actively interact with is the immediate present. The future and the past are unavailable to us. We can remember the past and see hard evidence of it. We can even see and hear recordings of it. But the immediate present and the past are all one thing. There is only one thing. We perceive an infinitely complex view that is painted in-full right at the instant of our perceiving it. And that includes all memory and its apparently seamless integration.

I hope you didn’t miss that. Those last two sentences are key. Try them again:

We perceive an infinitely complex view that is painted in-full right at the instant of our perceiving it. And that includes all memory and its apparently seamless integration.

One of the results of this is that all perception is 100% consistent. It all works perfectly as it all reflects and resonates it all. It all blooms from one source, so reflects itself perfectly.

In the Buddhist tradition, you may be familiar with Indra’s Web. This is a similar idea or analog. It is all as an infinite hall of mirrors, or web of cut gems, reflecting itself to complete a 100% consistent image and timeline. Your consciousness, your spirit, your soul does this constantly and with minimal effort.

You create your reality and project it out into your apparent perceived space (you’re projecting the idea of the space too). It appears to arrive instantly and whole, complete with its universe of evidence, timeline and memories. Don’t look around trying to prove or disprove this assertion, as all you can perceive in your temporal reality is the 100% consistent projected stimuli. And all you can remember is a universe that is in 100% agreement with all of it.

In some ways, I found and still find this to be the single most difficult of See Do’s lessons. And we went over it many times.

There is simply no evidence to be found within any perceived temporal reality experience or record that will contradict itself. It all comes from, and is, the one thing. And as such reflects or resonates itself with complete fidelity. If you understand the origin, you will understand that it is impossible for it to do otherwise.

Remember that Time does not exist, but Time is all we perceive (chapter 56), so the “time” it takes to put all of this together is irrelevant. What you and I perceive as Time, that continuous, consistent unwinding of the now, is an illusion of our temporal-reality-based perceptual mechanisms. What is “really” happening might as well take an eon between ticks of the clock. Maybe it does. We’d never detect it anyway.

And that would just be for you. There are a myriad of other souls, or temporal viewpoints, around you doing the same thing. These projection/perceptual realities can mingle and overlap, carrying resonance between each other’s point of view. So the complexity that had you puckering a few paragraphs ago is mightily compounded. But See Do just chuckles. He says it’s not really as crazy as it sounds. Uh-huh.

The important point being that if you can see clearly enough into your own spirit to completely forgive yourself, to truly love yourself, and to become that being who you can completely love and honor; then, if you can see into your soul’s deep inner passion and truest desire and align it with the truth and love inside you, to move into your state of True Being, you can begin to experience a reality that you can actively create. More than the parlor tricks of calling in a song on the car radio, you can affect events.

Look out into your world and try and see that much of what you perceive are resonances or echoes of what lies deep inside you. You may need a minute. And you may see that there is work to do.

           I know I do.

OUR KEYHOLE PERCEPTION

§ January 9th, 2010 § Filed under Chapter 58: Our Keyhole Perception § Tagged , , , , , § 2 Comments

We are incredibly visual creatures. And it all comes through these tiny windows. Yet you perceive a wide view that is complete and up-to-the-moment current. The reality you perceive is an assembly of darting views through a keyhole.

Before we move on to explore more of See Do reality, it will help to better understand how we perceive and relate to our temporal reality.

You probably perceive the space around you as a complete, open, three-dimensional space filled with solid objects. Your perception builds the space as complete and cohesive. And your view of it is wide, even panoramic. You can lean back and take it all in as one wide-angle space from one edge of your peripheral vision to the other, or you can focus in, ignoring much of the context, like you do while reading. You see a consistent and continuous picture.

But what are you actual getting by way of perceptual stimuli to build this picture? And how complete is it? We see things that don’t actually exist, like color. We don’t see things that clearly do, like radio, magnetism, radiation, heat; we don’t even see our eye’s blind spots. We hear only a narrow range of sounds (ask your dog). We are only comfortable feeling or touching a narrow range of temperatures. And our olfactory and tasting sensitivities are largely under-developed.

Look at your eyes in a mirror. That tiny hole in the center of your colored iris is the keyhole through which all of your visual stimuli must pass. The light is then focused on a small area in the back of your retina. This small area is called the fovea. It is estimated that more than 50% of the visual information that reaches the brain comes from the fovea. It allows us to focus our sight. Without it we could not read, drive, play sports, watch movies, recognize faces, etc. The visual area it “sees” is about the size of a quarter held at arm’s length. A typical human fovea is just 1 millimeter across. Fortunately, most of us have two.

That “vision” of your wide reality is assembled from the briefest darting shots of your environment. I say “shots” because they are more like stills than movies. When your eye darts, your visual center in your brain shuts down briefly. Your mind perceives something more like an edit in a movie than a smooth move. It does this because the movement would be blurred and clear vision would be impossible. Reading would also be impossible. But you don’t perceive any of this. Your mind assembles a “vision” and syncs it with the rest of your sensory input, which comes in about a quarter to a half second later.

The result is that you see things nearby in perfect sync with your feeling them or hearing them. But you brain doesn’t get them that way. For example the feelings that come in from your hands or your feet are almost always a half second behind your seeing them. But your brain aligns the reality so you won’t notice.

Hearing is similar. Everything comes in through your narrow ear canals and goes through a complex of tiny bones into a spiral tube called the cochlea. This tube is filled with liquid and lined with fine hairs. Depending on which hairs move, we “hear” sound of a certain pitch. The brain puts it all together.

Our senses of taste and smell are the same. Very small and limited input mechanisms giving simple electrical data to the brain. Touch is a bit different, being spread over the entire surface of the body. But there are only limited areas that have the sensitivity to discern details. Those are of course our palms and fingers, our soles and toes to a much lesser degree, and of course our tongue and lips. Everywhere else, the fidelity of our sense of touch is low resolution.

This is all we get. Five channels that are mostly low resolution, with an even narrower keyhole that is high resolution. The picture our mind “paints” on the other hand is wide and complete and hi-def.

And that doesn’t take into account any of the vast amount of energy and data that make up our temporal reality that are completely out of the sensitivity and range of our senses. A huge amount of information flows past us, indeed through us, second by second. And we are completely unaware, but for the fact that our science and its instruments can detect it for us.

But the reality our mind assembles, or creates, for us is the reality we believe. We touch it and feel it and smell it. We can see it with our own eyes. Through our keyhole perception.

There is the hard reality outside and there is the mental construct inside. Try and understand that it is the mental construct which you believe is reality. As it must be, because so much of the hard reality outside is beyond the scope of your keyhole perception.

My relationship with See Do was a two way exchange. He was glad to answer any question, but he was also eager to understand, through me, our perception of our temporal reality. And how our minds fathom new knowledge. Though he found our perception and conceptualization limited, he did enjoy the new sensory input. And I enjoyed the intellectual and spiritual challenges. There is much, much more to come.

           Please come back.

ALL PERCEPTION IS MEMORY

§ January 6th, 2010 § Filed under Chapter 57: All Perception Is Memory § Tagged , , , , § No Comments

I remember taking this photo. The chill air at dawn. But looking at it now is also a memory. A memory of perceptions received not half a second ago, processed and integrated with 5 senses and other immediate memories. The result is our perception of now.

My Spirit Guide, See Do, wanted me to see the differences between the nature of our temporal reality and the internal construct that we perceive. He said this understanding would become essential in my understanding of my place in actively creating events in the world.

He pointed out how what we perceive as real, we see as existing in real time, right now, right there in front of us. We understand memories of things that happened a few minutes ago as quite different from what we are consciously perceiving as “now.” But they are not really so different. And even our science bears this out.

We think we see what is there. We believe our eyes, in fact all of our senses, without question. And for good reason, as we have very little evidence to the contrary. But that construct of reality that we believe in as right now and real is, in fact, a memory.

Our mind has assembled it out of available sensory input. Scientific studies have shown that in most cases our perceived right now is about a half second from the points in time that the sensory input was perceived. It takes about that long for the mind to gather the input and assemble the construct.

Think about that for a moment. There are interesting implications. First, it is impossible for you to literally and consciously perceive anything directly. If your conscious mind could, it likely could not make sense of it. It must first be “processed” by a part of your mind somewhere below your consciousness. It gets filtered, and homogenized or integrated with the last grains of perceived reality. It all gets aligned and synchronized to appear seamless.

Or at least we always remember it as seamless.

Even things a little out of sync would be, well, alarming. So it is all reconciled into a cohesive, and comforting, perception. To makes things even more interesting, the same scientific studies seems to indicate that our mind is capable of projecting our consciousness, or at least our perception of our consciousness, actually slightly back in time to help match with the aligning input perceptions. Not far, maybe a little less than half a second.

But, remember (heh-heh) that as everything is perceived as a memory, it is very easy for our mind to perfect the integration later. If we did get it a little out of sync, it’s easy to correct.

We are all aware of the limits and failings of memory. We know that even eye witness accounts can blur and distort over time. But what we don’t know is just how short that span of time might turn out to be.

Everything you perceive is a memory. The concept of direct perception is an illusion. We see our temporal reality as a hard and undeniable place. It is 100% consistent and clearly there to touch. But our conscious minds are also clearly and undeniably outside of that hard reality.

Yet this is how we come to believe in an entire world. Our senses are our sole windows on our reality. And it all gets assembled out of sight and given to our conscious awareness as a remembrance of things past and in the tiniest of samplings (a mere 10-40 bits per second) to become our only evidence of a cohesive existence.

It then goes into what we perceive as a deeper memory, to be drawn on to support all of our temporal conclusions.

And this look at the truth is just beginning. We’re still looking at the reality in front of our eyes. There is more than meets the eye.

See Do would like us to really see our reality, to understand how it comes to us, and to see how we interact with it. You see, he wants us to change the world. This world. And it will take a good deal of seeing. And doing.
